Interesting video on Youtube of a guy that's planning on putting the V10 Gallardo engine into a 4C. He's starts by talking about dropping into a Lotus but around 13 mins 30 he switches to the 4C

That isnt so much dropping a V10 into a 4C, as it is bolting the 4Cs carbon tub to the front of a V10 and building a new car around it

Should be properly mental though

I can't help thinking that it's not the best use of either the engine or the 4C. I can't imagine what the weight distribution will be like for a start.
My hat goes off to them tough. Pretty ballsy project.

Ill agree with you 100% on that

In some previous thread the general consencus was that while the 4 cilinder engine in the 4C might not be the most glamorous affair, even putting a busso in there would probably upset the balance (and ruin the whole ultra light carbon thing they have going on). Putting a lambo V10 in there, or rather, abusing a 4C tub with a lambo V10 and loads of new panels seems like a waste of a 4C, especially given their limited numbers.

Ballsy project though, and i get the "its been done" attitude towards putting the engine into a lotus

Someone has put a BMW V10 into an Exige...

Had to extend and widen the rear to accommodate engine and gearbox though.

I'm 99% sure that isn't a 4C at all, it's a spaceframed prototype with some 4C-like panels draped over the top.

Apparently that last one has a 2L AER engine with 700 horsepower!
