How do you take this off
Discussion
As Basil notes they are bonded on and I also believe, screwed too. (I think mine were)
Take the roof off and remove the rubbers which the window fits into, once wound up. The rubbers sit in a metal channel. This will reveal, I think from memory 4 Philips screws which hold the metal rubber channel onto the roof. You can then remove those side channels by gently prising and cutting the bonding with a sharp knife.
However before you do all of this, I would check that its not the rubber which has shrunk or moved in the channel and that water is running to either end of the roof and then seeping in.
I have considered getting a Mk2 version of the roof in which those side bits are an integral part of the roof and not bonded on but I have been warned that not all roof's are the same fit.
You can adjust the roof fitting by adjusting the rear 2 securing pin holes and I would suggest your try this before tinkering with the window mechanism, as it sounds like one side will be too far down and the other too high. This may also be the cause of you leak.
If all fails then I would buy a roof cover which can easily be fitted for those rainy days when parked, and just drive fast when not parked to beat the rain!!!. Water ingress is a pain and a sod to find the actual cause.
Would be good it you can keep the thread updated with pics from you work too.
