Our currently family steed, a high mileage Range Rover TDv8 has been causing me sleepless nights. No longer being self-employed a big bill is now not a simple case of working harder for a few more days, but causes pain. As a result I no longer enjoy driving it. Add in that because of that it's very much a second car, doing local runs only it is expensive to run, and a recent big bill, it's time to put it for sale.

As it happens my dad had just bought changed his car, and was selling the old one. As it was dog friendly, in reasonably good condition, one previous owner with loads of bills a deal was done...

Audi A6 2.7 SE auto estate. Quite a few extra's including a sunroof, and highline media it's delightful to drive very smooth, and if it were not for the bonnet chips you would not think it's 171,00 miles in...

Couple of issues are a noisy tyre, a chattering boot actuator. It also seem's to take a longtime to warm up. I'm told they are all like this - certainly it's replacement is so it may not be the thermostat after all. It's also had a leak at some point, with the resulting damage meaning the phone ECU was taken out. I need to investigate the best way to ideally get phone and ipod music in.... Although given it's 2nd car status budget is limited on this.

Very pleased with it....

Interested how you get on with that.
They seam to eat electronic handbrake motors, hopefully this car has already had them done.

I've had a manual 2.7 version of this from 50k miles, in black too. It's on 110k miles. I keep thinking I want to get rid of it, but it does a great job of munching miles with a load full of kids and luggage and camping gear, and has never let me down, so i keep thinking I'll have it another year. I think the 17inch wheels contribute to the confort factor.

It gets the odd intermittent issue with remote door locks, and error messages about light bulbs, but mechanically all is solid. I had one issue about 20k miles ago which was the inlet valve solenoid blew after getting jammed which was a £500 job but since then, nothing. But it's efficient enough with 600+ miles on the motorway and plenty fast enough too.

I'm sure you will enjoy ownership very much.

Depends on the MMI, and there is alot of conflicting information out there about needing expensive 3rd party kit.

But if you have the DVD navigation with 2 x SD card slots in the glove box (MMI 3G Basic), then I plugged a lead like this into the rear of the unit

And enabled the AUX input via the 'green installer menu' (press and hold CAR + SETUP, but needs VCDS to activate this menu I think)

Nope it's MMI high. Drive in the boot...

As its a pre-facelift it will also be 2G High not 3G High. I had that in my 2007 2.0TFSI A6 Avant.
