I know this car, be sad to see it sold but it is a good un and ahead turner. Seems to be a lot for sale at the mo, when I bought mine there was a mixed bag out there and they seemed slow to sell but sure the good ones go quick. Anyone sold recently, what’s the experience? Tyre kickers, messers or are we past that?

I ask as interest, no lack of it, at events seems to come from a more select group now, which could indicate values will spread further as the careful buyer seeks the best ones and ignores the rest, interested to hear your views.

Many good cars are being sold without any advertising, sold within the TVR community. Dealers are over pricing the cars hence slow movement. I have noticed some dealers have reduced their prices recently but still optimistic in my view.

I think that is a really optimistic price! The car is far, far from original and would really need to cater to tastes (personally I find it really garish and a bit “Max Power”). There is no mention in the ad about chassis condition or engine rebuild. To sell at anywhere near this price the buyer would have to really love it! All in my humble opinion of course.

I asked as mine is modified and it attracts attention and I think because of this, and not from the “wrong crowd” which is what you would expect. Can’t help but notice a division in the TVR community between V8 and speed six owners and then an another division between modified and unmodified. I like unique, we are all different after all, and wonder what this does to the value, compare the car in the ad to non TVR motors for similar money and it makes sense if you are looking for unique as this clearly is (I actually like it).The rise in interest in customised products, retro type models and resto-mods has intrigued me for a while, the same way that the 40 odd years rule can be applied to classics where the iconic cars we grew up with start to rise in value as we have more disposable income, XJ6 series 1 as an example. Seems as though not everyone wants to be in a club/the same/conforming or whatever it is anymore and the car in the ad is an example. It stands out.
I build houses for a living, not sure how much longer mind, but everyone wants unique and I don’t mean a red door in a street of blue doors. I thought it was a mid life crisis but it seems to be happening at all ages. Now, tell me what you think.

Like anything, it comes down to personal taste. When people modify stuff they will ultimately do it to their personal taste, it is really hit and miss whether this will appeal to others, it will definitely reduce the number of potential buyers and as I said earlier you would really have to love it to pay top dollar. I’m not offended by modifying stuff but the general rule amongst some marques (TVR is one of these) is that it will reduce value, ask any dealer.
