Schmoozer (spelling)
Sir Alan Sugar uses this term alot. What does it mean.
Never heard of it before.

Thinking about it though.
Doesn't he say at the begging of the Apprentice that he hates arse lickers and Schmoozers in the same sentance. So do they mean the same.

I thought a schmoozer was someone who spent the vast majority of time 'networking' and air kissing other darlings in cocktail bars. I don't think it means arse kisser as such.

It comes from the Yiddish words of ... shmues and shmuesn which both mean ... Idle talk, gossip, chat. To shmooze is to have a lightweight conversation, one not serious in nature.

I was sure it had a Jewish origin , i have never known it used to describe an A@@ licker , more a charmer
"i shmoozed some girl at the bar" for example
