Have just purchased this BMW 630i Sport.. stats: 73,000 miles, full main dealer service history, 2 previous owners.. pretty much mint condition. Love it.
My last BMW was an E39 523i which I also really liked.. there’s something about that smooth 6 cylinder engine.. smile

And my midlife crisis weekend toy, Mk2 Focus RS wink

Both lovely. I hated, and I really mean hated that design of 6 Series back when they were current, but I think they look great now! Good work.

Thanks, and I pretty much agree.. wasn’t it a Chris Bangle design? It’s definitely matured into something rather nice now...dare I say pretty and sleek? I can’t stop looking at the lines.. and the build quality is something else. Mind you, my previous daily was a Peugeot 308 HDi Sport, so hardly a surprise laugh

The RS is about as opposite as you can get.. hard suspension, noisy missile.. unassuming it is not! cool

E63 is lovely...

Blurred front registration plate on the RS but not the rear - intentional? wink

Nice - It should have the magical N52 engine in it being a 2006

Lovely!

I looked in to these before I bought my E65 730D Sport; but couldn’t cope with only 2 doors...

Test drove the 630i, the 645i and 650i and it would have been a toss up between the 650i and 630i (the 630i was the best handling IMO) but the 650i burble was hard to beat wink

The 630i had plenty of poke IMO and was lovely in windy roads. Great engine too, as smooth as my previous E39 530i but with a bit more go I thought

Would have loved the V8, but I needed the balance of cost..mpg etc... tbh though, the 3L six is a great engine. My partner also has an Audi A1 2 door, so we’re kinda used to it...plus my RS is 2 door.. so 4 doors would probably end up weird laugh

Reliability has been superb on mine over the last 7 years, so that bodes well.
They are a great car.

My only gripe with mine was I found the steering wheel uncomfortable over long distances, so I had it recovered in nappa leather with extra padding in it, which worked a treat and looks standard. Wheel looks like standard and still looks like new after 120k miles. No connection, but it was done by Royal steering wheels.
Enjoy!

Definitely agree, obviously if taken care of.. but I’ve seen 6 series BMs advertised at 170,000 miles and still for strong money.

So far I haven’t found anything I don’t like...other than working out how to operate the idrive, and setting time and date. (Just had some warranty work and the battery was disconnected) so I need to read the owners manual wink

Thanks though, as a design, the Chris Bangle 6 series has definitely matured into quite a good looking car. Love it.

Yes it's the mighty n52.

Regarded as one of the best straight six engines have ever made. Extremely reliable too.

I've got this engine in my e91 330i

Congrats OP. I’ve pondered on one of these ever since a mate took his 635D to Le Mans a few years ago & I kept looking at it, as has been said I disliked them when new, odd how time changes opinions on looks!

E63 really isn't ageing gracefully. It looks awkward and will only get worse as the years go by.

I've had my 650i for the best part of 6 years now and despite being relegated to a weekend car (which did 700 miles last year) I can't bring myself to get rid of it. I think it's aged really well and looks great, and I still love driving it. The 4.8 is a cracker of an engine.

Good to know, it really is such a smooth engine..the gear changes are barely noticeable..
Hopefully it will continue to impress
