The "Skint" thread reminded me of a classic line last night, uttered by my girlfriend just as it finished.

After Skint, was a film. The announcers mentioned that it was about someone escaping from America's toughest high security prison....

"Oh I know that prison, its called Askaban isnt it?"

Laugh? I nearly cried...

I told my housemate that when "I, Robot" was released in Newcastle, it was called "Why-aye, Robot".

She believed me. She's not blonde though - just blonde between the ears.

My niece who is taking 9, yes 9 GCSE's this summer would not accept that squirrels were real - she claimed she'd only seen them in books and on the telly. Moreover she was convinced that Unicorns really did exist.

We had a hell of a job with her when we told her about Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and Leprechauns.

All kids now take 8-10 GCSE's.

Whether she passes any of them higher than a F or G grade is more the issue.

If you really want to confuse her, show her "Pete's Dragon" and tell her the Dragon is real.

Not if you go to my school you don't.

My favorite was convincing people that they were making a London Eye in Japan.

My (blonde) sister was asking whether I'd bought
a new DVD she had seen recently....

....the Mancunian Candidate.

Bless.
