M3 Running Costs
Discussion
I'm getting an average of ~20mpg from mine, but I'm not known to 'pootle' about!
The recent major service, Inspection 2, cost ~£750.00. Inspection 1 is around £400 I believe. Service intervals are every 10k to 12k miles.
I have Mitchelin Pilot Sport tyres, these cost ~£220.00 each.
Discs and pads will set you back £650.00 from a main dealer.
Um, can't think of anything else particularly useful to tell you! :
If you haven't already done so, it is probably worth having a look at www.bm3w.co.uk. Lots of useful information in their forums.
Hope this helps.

Tyres are much cheaper than that!
I got a set of 235/35/19 + 265/30/19 Michelin Pilot Sport 2's for about £700 all in (CSL has slightly wider tyres than normal M3).
MY03 will be coming up for 3 years old next year so if you are going to keep it beyond that allow £720 a year for the warrenty.

Where'dya get your tyres from? I got those prices from Mytyres.com or Blackcircles, can't remember which one. I'll probably need a new set in a few thousand miles so would be interested in saving ~£100.00
Jo - I see that you are in Yorkshire.
Both Tech Tyres and Northeastern Tyres in York will undercut mytyres and Blackcircles.
Have used both on my previous 911's. Good service and prices.

Costco I'd have thought the 225 255 combo would be even cheaper.
£650 for disks and pads, that is simply robbery. Two sets of disks and pads will get you AP 4 pots that will last a year of racing.......on the road, they are going to last forever. I guess that's one of the reasons why I won't be buying another M car for road use, the "Motorosport" connection of the "M" equation disappeared long ago for the now favourable "Money" conetation.
