New 390SE owner

Hi all

I finally have a TVR, last week a red 390SE arrived in my garage.

It needs some tidying but drives very well.

It’s old registration number was D664YLP 1986 car does any one know this car?

Not sure which engine how would I tell the car was registered October 86

Should be a number stamped in a flat part of thee block casting under the ex manifold on the oil filler side; should be just about where the head meets block i think.

All the best 390's have whale tails. John Eales engine surprisingly start with JE. Mines JE1067.

My old September 420SE was NCK 6 so this is likely low teens ish

thanks for the kind welcome just checking the engine code its NCK 15 so one of the early ones, hopefully a good one sounds good and pulls very strong its now done 74k miles.

Yes I have been tempted by the silver 450SE that’s for sale on here.

I’m enjoying my 390SE however am a little impatient to get it fully up and perfect again so decided rather than spend cash on my car to bite the bullet and get the best available.

Yes the 420SEAC is looking good but alas I’m not a rich man and will probably end up keeping the 390SE and have to patiently over the winter make it perfect again ish.
