Fully agree.....but I have a ticket ( bought last December ) for the Simple Minds gig at Durham Cricket Ground in August, and I cannot attend due to work commitments.

I would rather someone could use it but I don't know if I can sell it to anyone else as it seems that ID is required at the venue.

I have contacted the band's website so hopefully will get some advice there.

I realise this system is designed to stop reselling at much higher prices, but surely there must be a way of letting someone else attend if I cannot.

Any advice welcome !

I agree something needs to be done, but I seem to remember ebay wouldnt let you buy tickets on the auction site. So all you got were adverts for 'buy this pen- receive a free ticket for xxxxx'. People will always find a way round it.

I think the biggest problem isnt necessarily individuals selling tickets, its large groups/ companies using bots to buy them in the first place. I get some people will have to change plans or something will come up where they need to shift tickets..... thats fine. But if more 'fans' were able to get tickets in the first place, before the bots/ resellers then that would make the biggest difference.

The bots are a problem but also the actual amount of tickets available for general purchase is often quite low.

At a Justin Bieber concert in Nashville on out of nearly 14,000 available seats for the show, only 1,001 seats were available for purchase when the general sale began on Ticketmaster.
