Anyone know anywhere (internet, mail order ?) that supplies parts for older Ford engines ?

I'm trying to find an engine mount and inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets for my 1600 X flow (in a Westie) and I just can't find anywhere that does them .... local parts places come up ziltch (e.g. Partco) and even Ford list them all as "out of production" !

Cheers

I THINK that a company called Burton Power still does stuff for them... pretty sure they've got an internet site too... ask for the catalogue.

I assume you have tried the parts suppliers in the back of Practical Cassics and Classic Ford magazines.

Alternatively you could try the owners clubs. The x-flow was put in the Mk 2 Cortina. A lot of the owners clubs tend to get difficult to get parts made up in batches is there is sufficient demand.

Burtons are at www.burtonpower.com

Also may be worth trying SAP Motor parts - www.sapmotorparts.com

John Wade could be worth a go, but don't have his details with me - anyone??

Burton Power tel: 0181 554 2281 (Ilford)

I used them a lot when I had a crossflow Westie. Nearly all gaskets, performance parts etc in stock and a good knowledge of tuning and rebuilding the engines

Ah ! Brilliant ! I've been after Burton Power's number / address, but I only knew then as "Burtons" .... you try searching on the internet for Burtons and see what you get !

Thanks fellas, I'll give them a ring ....

Have you tried Wesfield ? They can usually supply most bits for the engines they support.

Have tried Westfield .... they didn't want to know (too old).

Not sure if they're the mounts .... it just says "engine mount rubbers" on that site.

Basically, they're oblong, quite large, and bonded to a rather large U section of metal (which bolts to the engine with 4 bolts). I *think* they are Cortina mk5 items, and I think the part number is 1477079

The Morgan 4/4 had the 1600 x-flow until the early 80s. If all else fails, you could do a search on Morgan parts suppliers.

Mercury Motors, Cross Deep, Twickenham are older Ford specialists, very helpful and generally the sort of people that Pistonheads like to know.

Need I say more?
