Hello, going to be visiting Dubai for my first ever visit in November on my way home from Australia.

I have seen videos on dune racing in Land Cruisers etc. I wondered if anyone has experience on trips they could recommend or contacts that run not so sedate dune trips.

If there are any other things I should check out please share also. I am visiting for 4 days.

Thanks very much in advance.

What you've seen in the Landcruisers isn't racing its called dune bashing.

It's normally part of a six hour trip that includes the dune bashing, a camel ride, a bit of falconry belly dancing and a bar b q.

You can do dune buggy riding though but that's another tour.

Any of the decent hotels will be able to arrange a tour with a bona fide company that will collect you from your hotel and drop you back.

The landcruiser drivers are good guys and you ge to see what the vehicles are capable of, as they say if you wanna go in the desert take a range rover, if you wanna get out ......................take a landcruiser!

Best way to do it - is to drive yourself. Land Cruisers are quite fun, but the best way to do it is in a Dune buggy.

Ask for Chad (say I recommend him) and look up Big Red (https://www.bigreddxb.com). The weather will be good, and the Polaris are great fun.

If not you can get driven with a number of companies - Arabian Adventures is one, but many more on Entertainer app where you can get 2 for 1's. Or do a lesson with someone like these - http://edi-uae.com/desert-driving-course

I would drive the Polaris - much more fun!
