There are 2 that I know of. One flies out of North Weald.

A Venom looks a lot like a Vampire, but I don't think there are any flying in the UK.

oh god, Vampire is my most favorite WWII era Jet. I always think if the American have not taken the Goblin, the first operational RAF jet would be Vampire rather than Meteor

Returning to North Weald on Sunday at 1600 if anyone is interested.

Blackpool airport, as per my post last night. I was about 99% certain I'd got a photo of one of them but couldn't be sure until I got back to my computer and looked at the memory card.

The Vampires are also Flying at RIAT.

Admittedly the running/maintenance costs are going to be eye watering and also the pool of rich pilots that also have a license to fly a fast jet will be very small, but 100k strikes me as an absolute bargain for such a plane. Especially given you can spend way more than that on a basic prop driven airplane 😊

As far as licence is concerned you can fly it on a PPL. You would need a few hours conversion training and to be signed off by someone qualified, but the training would be advisable for any high performance aircraft.
