VW T5 Transporter - touch screen nav slow to wake

Anyone here have a T5 with the OEM touch screen Kenwood head unit? When starting and engaging reverse, the parking sensors are functional and audible but the graphics on screen can take maybe 20 - 30 seconds before it displays the visuals.
Same with navigation, it'll take nearly a minute before the unit is usable.
The chap fitting my tow bar yesterday said that isn't normal. Any one else?
