I was lucky enough to get a new car 2 years ago, from Caterham Crawley. After about 18 months the mirror fell off. I had a Caterham about 20 years ago, and it suffered the same problem. I spoke to Caterham about this recently, and they just wanted to sell me a new sticky pad. But these don't really work do they?

Any suggestions? I'm surprised that Caterham haven't really addressed this!

The sticky pads DO work if you are meticulous with cleaning both the 'screen and the mirror mount - ANY dirt will render them useless

The sticky pads work but worth carrying a spare. If you want to bond it on to never ever fall off, there's an adhesive kit available with a small mesh that fits between the mirror and glass, Halfords sell them. I used one about 10 years ago and having just fitted a new screen it was a complete sod to get off!

Mine fell off last year while i was switching the windcreen or the aeroscreen.

I just put a 3M pad on it instead (the same as I use for a dashcam) and it hasn't moved.
