I have rediscovered an old engine in my warehouse, upon closer inspection it looks like a Meadows Engine, 6 cylinder, twin spark, magneto and distributor.
Its been marinised by the British Power Boat Company, it has a gearbox, oil and water pump a dyna-start and all the exhaust heat exchanger system intact, its also go a pair of Amal Carbs and an alloy rocker cover.
Here is the thing, its never been run in a boat, so the aluminium parts are in very good shape but the engine has had frost damage to the head, its cracked.
I have managed to find a picture of the boat it was going in, this engine was an exchange for the damaged engine in the boat but was never fitted.
The boat was probably scrapped back in the 90s.
We have had the engine since the early 2000s, I'm having a clear out and this has emerged from one of our storage containers.
Reason for this thread is to invite a discussion on British power boats, Meadows engines and this sort of thing in general.

You should have enquiries from a Jon and a Clive, both of whom own a BPB boat and both would like to have that engine. Clive's boat is originally Chrysler engine powered and Jon would need a pair.
The owner in France has sourced a Chevy so he's not interested.
I've lost touch with the current owner of Miss Paris since she was auctioned, she is running an incorrect later Perkins diesel, suspect that would be lovely. She's on Lake Geneva I think.
There is one other, the chap I sold my Sea Arrow to, but I have to write to him as no email!
There's one in Sweden, one in Sydney but I'm not in touch and one in France that is poorly, he has a Chevy V8 for it.
I guess the block and head would be most valuable to a car owner, in marine terms, its a bit of an oddity and would be tricky to find a home for it.

The best outcome for me is to find a person to love it and put it back in a boat.
The rarity of the combination of parts is what excites me, imagine trying to put this together, where would you start ?
Its all needing a good going over but its complete, I suspect its been run on the trailer, that's why there was water present that froze and caused the crack.
