New tyres which ones.................?
Discussion
I need to change my rear tyres and am wondering which ones to buy?? I have seen some 245/435 ZR16 Michelin Pilots for sale and wondered what the thoughts of people are, are they any good? Also Ypkohama 225/50 ZR 16 what are Yokohama like? I am also looking at Goodyear F1's as they seem a good tyre any exerience with these?

I had Michelin Pilots on which were OK but not up to much in the wet.
I have just changed to Michelin Pilot Exalto's as they were recommended to me.
Absolutly fantastic!! although not cheap..
With the Gaz front suspension sourced from Bugsy, yesterday was a great day for driving.
How did you get on with the 350lb fronts, were they what you expected or softer, harder than you thought
Derek,
I have played with the settings quite a bit now and and think I have found a sensible setting.
350 lb Springs give a fair compromise between handling and comfort. If I am honest, they do still allow too much roll/dive on heavy cornering. Stiffer springs may improve this but would also affect the ride quality. with these springs the compromise is not bad.
A brisk drive around the lanes is significantly better than was previously the case. It now feels like I am in control rather than having to fight around the corners. Having a play yesterday coming back from Rockingham, I found that I can drift the rear end around roundabouts now rather than the terminal understeer that used to keep me focused. It is only under real spirited driving around sharp bends that stronger springs would benefit.
I may play a bit more with ride height yet before I finalise settings. I may leave the back end alone for now as it feels OK but am tempted to try 400 lb springs on the front and see what effect this has. If I then decide the rears are the weak link, I can add rear shocks and the 350 springs I have left over.
Can you let me know how much for just the springs.
Ta,
Steve
As an indication of the difference, I can now relate to the comments on great 'S' handling, whereas before I thought they were a bit
"rose coloured glasses!!".

Gaz offer a free exchange on springs but carriage would apply.
I would have thought that 400lb springs on the front and worn 270/290 rising rate springs on the back would give an exiting ride.
Let me know what you want to do.

Whereabouts did you get them, and what was the price? I saw a thread somewhere on here where you had posted a link with a price of £390 supplied and fitted, was that the one? If it was can you post the link again?
Cheers,
Paul
