Mark Webber has accused teammate Nick Heidfeld of taking the easy option in his bid to rack up World Championship points this year. Webber and Heidfeld have been locked in some pretty intensive fights this season and, with Heidfeld having taken the only team podium so far with his third place in Malaysia, the pressure is mounting on Webber to start delivering a similar result. But speaking to the Herald Sun in Melbourne, Webber has hit back at his critics and claimed that he has not matched his teammate's results so far this year because he has been pushing so hard to improve - which is why he has fallen foul of a few driving errors. "Nick just sits there. He's happy to do that," said Webber. "I refuse to sit there. I'm going to try. I don't want to settle for seventh or eighth. "I don't think I've been beaten by a teammate when I've finished, apart from last weekend. Even in the races where I've had a DNF (did not finish), I've been ahead of my teammate at the time." Webber believes that the team's lack of results can be pinpointed directly to the overall competitiveness of the FW27 - which has been subject to a major development programme after the team were hampered by wind-tunnel problems earlier in the year. "I'm doing absolutely everything I can," added Webber. "It (the car) is not at the level of some of the other teams. It's not at the level we want to be at. We can't race Renault or McLaren, and now there are a few extra boys as well." He added: "There are no silver bullets in this game. We are where we are."

Now it all becomes clear - whilst messers Schumacher and Alonso reckon it is about scoring points at the end of the race, aparently it is about being infront before you drive off the road .

Wasn't it Heidfeld who stormed through the pack from 10th in Malaysia to get his podium, passing Webber in the process. Heidfeld also set the 2nd fastest lap of the race, so he's really taking it easy. I think Williams will replace him with Button and keep Heidfeld next year. So many people seem to forget it was Heidfeld who battled with Montoya so hard in F3000, if it wasn't for a qualifying problem which put Heidfeld to the back of the grid for the season ending race at the Nurburgring and Montoya up the front he would probably have won the championship.
