Sounds like it's all getting too much down in Woking. I still think they made a mistake with Ron...

Viewing from the outside, Boullier gives the impression of being somewhat clueless and out of his depth, which is a shame as he seemed to do a solid job at the Enstone team. Zak Brown just seems distracted by things other than F1, and too focused on keeping Alonso happy at any cost. He's failed to bring in the big sponsors, which is the one thing he was originally hired to do, and it looks like they've ditched Honda just as they're about to come good.
They now have a race-winning engine and the best racing driver in the world, and yet they're seemingly going backwards down the grid. If they can't show serious signs of improvement soon then heads need to roll, starting at the top. I don't think Whitmarsh is the answer, but Boullier and Brown certainly aren't either.

Zac Brown is out of his depth at McLaren and was over rated in the business development world. Running an F1 team requires strength of character, a passion for this very complex business and the ability to employ and exploit the skills of some very dedicated and intelligent people. Sadly the current McLaren management are unable to do this. Zac brown has too many fingers in too many pies and he is still fascinated by Alonso and Indycar. On track they cannot seem to make the chassis work with the engine and at the factory the hard working staff are just not working to their 'edge'. A mess for sure.
That's funny as I spoke to a guy tonight who works at McLaren.
I asked him straight why they thought their car was so slow?
We've got to much downforce he said,
so take some off, I said.
You can't just remove drag he said.
Drag and downforce are 2 different things I said.
He laughed and said they weren't.
He tells people he works in the aerodynamics dept.
(I know he does work there but not what he actually does)

They were a direction-less s
t show in the last couple of seasons with Merc engines, that was disguised to a point by a Honda engine that was behind the rest but seemingly not as much as initially thought with hindsight and they’re still a s
t show now they have nowhere to hide and a Renault engine in the back of the car... The Australia update didn’t arrive until Barcelona and they consistently 1.5 seconds or more behind the Red Bulls. And after the last couple of races they’re even 3-4 tenths behind the works Renault team.
It seems the direction hasn’t changed and not has the show and that isn’t likely to change any time soon.

Rather have Whitmarsh than Dennis. People look at Dennis with rose tinted glasses.
17 Championships with Dennis vs. 0 with Whitmarsh. What do you want to see with your glasses?
My question would be whether team bosses are like drivers, as in during their 'peak' they get great results but when they leave and come back again, often the magic has gone. Age can play a factor too. He's not as young and fighty as he once was.

He was given another opportunity to turn McLaren around in 2014 but failed.
He isn't the right man to lead McLaren now but that doesn't remove his legendary status in the sport of F1.
