This looks like a good price considering the low mileage, but it's miles away from me at a dealer I have never heard of! Does anyone know the car?

That might be because I linked to the description page, let me try again; it's the ivory 2009 R500 in Rochdale.

I would check what production number it is. Some of the earlier ones had lots of issues.

Would be interesting to know what issues, if only for preemptive strike action

There were two early(ish) R500D's owned by chaps in our local L7C group. One in particular was a right nail. Engine, gearbox, diff, driveshafts etc - all replaced and still issues. The replacement engine was then found to be significantly down on power.

The cars were around 70 in the production run.

One of the cars was taken back by Caterham. We were only talking about it last week. He still has all his emails with Ansar Ali - over 260 of them. The replacement car was fine, which he still has.

With the car identified by the OP I would want to know how many owners it has had (and maybe speak to them) as well as trying to find out it's warranty history.

That's interesting stuff, I wonder if these are R500 issues, or just high-specific-outout Caterham issues? The white car in question sold in 12 hours to the first viewer, so discussion of that particular car is now academic - I hope it was a good one for the sake of whoever bought it!

Are CSR260s generally reliable? Love the look of the orange 5-speed one at GP cars, not sure I could live with a straight-cut box though.
