Its a little confusing so bear with me.

Background
I've got a ‘99 S1 111s Elise

Problem 1
When I turn the ignition off, she still carries on running until I turned my lights off then the engine cut out!!

Problem 2

The cigarette lighter will only receive power if the lights are turned off. Turn the lights on and power dies.

Problem 3

When I press the brake my front head lights will come on, then go off when the brakes are released. When the lights are turned on the no problem.

Problem 4
When the lights are on the horizontal brake light comes on as well.

I'm guessing the problem lies with the lights, but after that i'm a little clueless, any ideas anyone.

Yeh, I’ve had the interior upholstered so they would have disconnected the lighter socket when working on the gear stick cover. I’ll get back to you on that. Cheers

Smashing problem solved. The lighter was connected incorrectly that solved the ignition problem.

The solution for the other problems all came down to the rear brake light bulb, when it had gone i replaced it but with a single filament buld not a double one.

I was suprised such some fails in the electrics could course all these problems.

Thanks for the help.
