I'm after some advice. Pretty soon I'm going to replace the tyres on my 300ZX (235/45 ZR17's on the front, 265/40 ZR17's on the back).

I already run Avons on the front and find them damn noisy. I'd like a set of Brigestones, but at £630 a set I think I may look elsewhere. I've been quoted £398 for a set of Fulda's which seems a very good deal. However, other than knowing that Fulda's are rebranded Goodyears (allegedly)I know nothing about them. Does anyone know if they are any good? I'm looking for excellent wet weather grip over dry grip.

Any advice welcome.

Cheers

I've got Fulda's on the M, and although I haven't driven with them yet (Cars in bits!), I've heard good reviews on both performance and price. The 14" set of four cost under £50 a tyre. How they fair on anything more modern and powerful though, i'm not sure. Their web site has some more info on their high performance ones - www.fulda.co.uk.

Had a set of Fuldas on a modified Taimar 205/55 15in front, 225/50 15in rear. Ran them for about 800 miles and replaced them with a set of Bridgestone S02 PP.

The difference was amazing, all I will say is that you pays your money and takes your choice.

PS I did Sprint and Trackday the car.

I have a set of Fulda's on the 260Z and they are pretty good for the money.

I have used Fulda Extremos on a 944 turbo. The idea was that I could buy two sets of Fuldas for the price of one set of S02's. I used the car on track days, so wet weather grip was important. The Fuldas were OK but not brilliant, and wore quickly. I have ended up in the kitty litter onece, but this was probably my fault, wet track into bend too fast and the front let go. I now use So2's for road and wet track use. Dry tracks, I still use P Zero 'C's.
