Seat ibiza 2009 key fob won't lock or unlock remotely

Hi I've got a problem with my key fob for seat ibiza 2009 sport 1.4 (2008-2017) wont lock or unlock remotely. Its a 3 button key, same as for VW. I only have one key and i can only lock and unlock manually.
Has anyone got a procedure how to program the key fob?
I've changed the battery.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Open car door manually, insert key in ignition and start engine (I think) then hold lock button down on key in ignition for 10 s whilst it is running, then turn off. Should work again now. If not, try it with ignition on no engine running.
if not, may need new battery.
Do you have a spare and can check it isn't the receiver. Assuming it just needs a synch, above should work
