I was at the Kit Car show at Donington at the weekend. The whole thing was a bit of a let down, but There was a Lotus 7 style car there that the owner had built from scratch (no "kit") with a 2 litre turbo cosworth engine in with anti-lag, water cooling and nitrus. The owner reconed it put out about 400bhp and weighed about 550kg.

That's almost 730 bhp/ton - in a home made machine.

What's the best power to weight ratio anyone else has come across in something road legal?

Will.

The Dobson's Ultima is 1300bhp or something, in 1000kgs. It is a twin turbo Chevy engine.
