UConnect Sat Nav

I've got UConnect in our new Fiat and the UConnect Live comes with some inclusive apps. I cannot make out, though, whether it's possible to get Nav on it. I've Goggled it for the past hour and not found the answer.

Anyone know please?

I did the sama as you a few months ago, with more or less the same outcome. Would be great to hear if it has a use.... although i suspect it may be one of those pointless things they put in brochures that doesnt actually do anything. I’d rather they had installed a cd player cos the radio is carp

To be fair, ours has DAB and is good.

Uconnect systems either come with Sat Nav built in or not. It’s obvious if you have it from your in car screen. The Uconnect Live app just connects the built in Nav to the internet for the live traffic feed etc. It’s not a Nav system in itself. As far as I know the only way to get Nav if it’s its not built in is via Apple car play or the android equivalent

Thanks Lee, that was what I was starting to suspect.

I have never used Apple Car play. Will that allow map and directions via the screen?

What age is your 500. Ours is a very late 17 plate, has the 7 inch screen but not apple play, i think if it was newer it would have apple play.
Planning to take ours to the stealers this week, see if they can get the radio to work, the only issue being that their location is about the only place i can clear radio reception

Ours is June 2017. It's the one with DAB and cruise.

I will ask about apple play, i imagine its a software uplift. Ours is a 500s with the dab and cruise also. I think the “mirror”designation was first with apple play

Yes. Yesterday. I tried to register but the verification email never arrived.

I find this a lot with small forums actually, I can almost predict that I won't get the registration email even before it doesn't arrive.

I don't have Apple car play either but it should allow you to use Apple maps from your iPhone on the in car screen, it basically mirrors your phone.

Okay thanks. It's not an option in Uconnect. Only Deezer, Facebook and a couple of others are in there,.

I've just heard from the supplying dealer, who says that it isn't possible to add Nav to a car built without it.

Apple play and android auto can only be added to 7 inch it's an extra might not be possible to add after the fact or could just be a software upgrade. Uconnect is usual fiat clunky stuff but the TuneIn internet radio is worth having not least because you will have access to loads more stations but also because DAB believe it or not for the all new radio option is often broadcast in......MONO..... Can you credit that! Planet rock is one station so afflicted. I do think it's not much better than the old blue and me (in itself dysfunctional) and in some ways is even more infuriating why do I have to accept t&c every time I switch on?
