Audi a6 c6 egr valve

Hi guys,
Just been trying to get my sisters 56 plate a6 out of limp mode. Clear the codes and its full power then i almost instantly get p0404 code which puts it into limp mode. Tried carbon clean and egr cleaners but to no avail and its making horrible noises (egr valve). Think it just needs a replacement unit. I believe its an electronic unit instead of a vacuum one. Where should i get one from and what make should i go for?
