What do we think of him? Seems to be making a (cleaner) start to his F1 career than Verstappen.
It is I, Leclerc!

I generally keep an eye on the F3/F2 categories.
What impressed me the most about Leclerc is how quickly he got on top of the Pirellis in F2. The tyres in this category are still like from the bad old days of Pirelli, and you'd often see drivers coming in from lower categories who are completely confounded by them. You've got to have a great feel for it and be able to quickly adapt. You'd also often come across drivers who are able to look after them well in the race but not able to extract the 1-lap pace from them.
This guy was doing both so well. Obviously the rubber is more robust in F1 and getting to grips with the high downforce car is another thing, I think he has done well considering the Sauber looked a difficult car to drive on the limit earlier on in the season.

He was simply phenomenal last year in F2 - definitely a future world champion. His driving style and capability remind me of Alonso. Not as impetuous as Verstappen, a great overtaker as well as strategically smart.
A few more decent results this year and Ferrari would be insane not to promote him to the red car.

Can be tough to be thrown into the spotlight. I'd like to see him moved up to Haas for a year first.A few more decent results this year and Ferrari would be insane not to promote him to the red car.

Agreed. Wasn't he almost a second a lap faster than anyone else in one of the Spa races in F2? I'd really like to see him promoted to the Ferrari team next year and shake things up in that team!A few more decent results this year and Ferrari would be insane not to promote him to the red car.
I'm not sure there will be space for him at Ferrari next year. If Raikkonen goes off to eat his ice creams, its well reported that Ricciardo wants in (he's denied a pre contract so its probably a done deal ). I think Leclerc will move to Haas first, probably replacing Grosjean there.

Do we think he needs another season to get ready for Ferrari? Or chuck him in at the deep end for 2019?
