Oh shit, sorry to hear it Tom. Still, once those ABSOs kick in, it will mean the end of this type of crime, of course...

Chin up mate, worse things can happen....

Sorry to here that Tom, the BiB's dont care do they, I had over £3k of tools etc nicked from the back of my car Nov '03 and was made to feel like i was in the wrong for reporting it, I had to hassle the Bib's for a crime reference number because it made the stats look worse for unsolves crime.
Regards

Bad luck mate, I had my boot emptied many years ago, and even though I could give the police the name, address, reg number of the car the scrote was driving with no Tax, Insurance or even a Licence, do you think they were interested? Sorted it in my own way though
It's a bit horse/door/stable, but I know a good TVR driving, mobile Alarm fitter in the Notts area that could sort you out with a good deal on an alarm

Sympathies, makes you sick doesn't it?

My brother had is stereo thieved out of his car a couple of years ago - Sony MD headunit, CD changer, really nice American amp, little shites even took the CD changer cable. Made a right mess of the centre console too.

Police wouldn't even come out, the woman told my bro how they had got past the alarm great, thanks. Just take some prints FFS so that if you get a match then you can charge the shites even if it's 5 years down the line. Imagine one of the scrotes getting pulled for TWOCcing and then finding they have a charge sheet that includes 50 other crimes

Bro sold the car in the end, totally lost his faith in it, felt violated.

Hope the scrotes get what is coming to them... chin up mate...

Utter bummer.

About 10 years ago I was walking back to the 'company carpark' (in Nottingham) one evening when I espied a scrote loitering on a corner on the opposite side of the road. Seconds later another scrote appeared from the parking area and headed towards me with something held under his jacket. 'Twas dark and could not see all this clearly at the time but put the pieces together a couple of mins later on entering the patch of ground. We shared it with a couple of other businesses and there in the centre was a Golf GTi minus a window and it's radio/cassette unit. Not one of ours.

So I wnet to the nearest manned place I could find - NCP car park - and they called the feds. Back to the car park and the owner arrived at about the same time as the BiB. (They used to turn up in those days). Various discussions about which pub it would turn up in later and that they would alert the team that was out working on that sort of crime.

Sounded positive but no idea what happened.

Some year later my Senator was vandalised (attempted theft I think - they stuffed the door handles into the doors and cut the central locking/alarm system wires. As I was parked outside the house of some friends in Cardiff I called the local BiB who were eventually persuaded to make a visit about 3 hours later. Sadly the guy could not get any dabs. Anyway having not touched the car up to that point I discovered that I could unlock it via the boot lock and then operate the door catch mechanism though the hole in the door where the handle had been. So, calls to the Isurance Co - refused the offer of sending a vehicle to collect it as I needed to commute home that night - and repairs instigated with loan car for a week - which turned into two weeks ...

A few months later, having co-incidentally changed Insurance company following a price hike despite the protected polcy, I received a letter from the BiB in South Wales telling me they had apprehended someone who had admitted attempting to break in to my car! They advised, however, that there was little point in trying to make a claim against said scrote. Which I thought was an interesting point to make in the letter advising me of the admission. I assume they had their reasons ...

So I passed the info on to my previous insurers and let them decide whether they wanted to take any further action. Often wonder what happened.

You never know what opportunities might turn up Tom. Crap thing to happen all the same.
