What looks like a nice looking, lowish mileage, F-type V6S on AT and there was the below photo of the start button which was completely worn out. Is that normal ?

Very normal. The orange start button is not durable at all. Mine was replaced under warranty, only a matter of time before it turns like that again.

Strange how jaguar has gone cheap on the F-type start button. On my 10 year old with over 100k miles XKR, my button still looks as good as new. So why the cheap pound shop quality button on the F?

My thoughts exactly. Sometimes 'progress' goes backwards. It's only a fking button - how hard can it be!

(maybe buttons that last are for old farts who like walnut dashes)

Jeez, some people must have very rough finger tips! 12k on my car & button is like new. I guess the moisturiser is working
