111R Sports exhaust
Discussion
As the proud owner of a new Elise 111R, its running in nicely. Thing is though, its just too quiet. Yes I need to upgrade the exhaust. Trawling the net, there seems to be a small range of sports silencers, but I'd appreciate any recommedations on the best - ideally I'm looking for something which sounds right, but a few extra bhps wouldn't go amiss. Maybe in the longer term I might look at upgrading the induction, but not yet. Advice would be appreciated.....
Lotus do 2 systems, the Stage 1 and the Stage 2.
The Stage 1 sounds good, not too loud but enough to make it sound like a sports car not a hairdryer.
The Stage 2 system is loud (over 100db on the static test so too loud for a lot of circuits).
There is also one made by Bluflame Exhausts which is supposed to be in between the two (it looks good as well). There is a thread on it with some pics and a sound clip on Exiges.com here:

I think it sounds fantastic. Apparently around 98db but also comes with bafflers which just slip into the pipes and secured by 2 clips in a few seconds which will reduce the noise level so it should get on any track.
No idea of the price but the thread has contact details and a phone number.
This will be the one I am going to look at when I get the Exige.

James here:
I run a stage 1 and had no trouble at Donnington on a 98db day it does sound a lot better and as a daily drive car is great. I also have an ITG induction kit on which seems to release a few more horses and I should now be putting out about 200bhp. The stage 2 I understand is loud at over 103db and there are no visible pipes they exit straight down.
