So annoying when they decide to run these things 20-30mins early!
Myself and another 4 waiting to photograph at a location 15mins before it was due only to be told it passed through 25mins previous!
Isn't there an online 'thing' you can go to which gives real timings, a bit like FR24?

In my experience the things are usually massively late, then come through about five minutes after I've given up and started walking home.

Yes there is - Realtime trains. Here'/s the log of today's run: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U53362/2018/...In my experience the things are usually massively late, then come through about five minutes after I've given up and started walking home.
I have effectively wasted a day on this. I went to see it at Bath this morning. Stood on platform 1 (the down platform) and a 10-coach class 800 managed to get in the way of it as it ran through right time. There was only the Black 5 on the job - no 31806.
So then I decided to chase it to Yeovil. There was 90 minutes to lose before the next train (so I spent 30 in Bath and 60 in Westbury, where it was pissing down and blowing a gale). On arrival at Pen Mill it was still cold and windy with rain threatening, so I just gave up (ie. didn't go up to Junction) and got the train back. I decided to have some lunch in the KFC when I got back to Bath (the one outside M&S) and found the bloody place shut and now a gym.
I have had better days out

The only thing worth a mention was that it was the first time I have got on and off a train at Pen Mill since 1964
