Personally no.
I'm done with filling my environment with plastic tat, which will just sit on a shelf collecting dust for 99% of the time.
EDIT: There seems to be a lot of unhappy punters on SDE, regarding ebay scalpers.

No for me either despite being someone who buys vinyl all year round from my local independent record store (Pie and Vinyl).
My personal thoughts are that RSD has now turned into little more than hype where a lot of people who never otherwise set foot in a "proper" record shop do so once a year to buy some overpriced perceived "rarity".
What really finishes it off for me is the sheer number that are then put onto EBay at extortionate prices, noticed this year that a lot were available as well a day or two even before RSD....not really the "spirit" of the whole thing. So I'll keep supporting my local shop but not through RSD.

At least is gets them into the shop, which is kinda the point. Some indies thrive, others will be glad of the opportunity to try and retain even a few repeat customers.
I would partake if i still lived in UK. Moved house recently and unpacked my vinyl last night which tool several hours as i played so many 45’s in the process. I guess i will have to buy any RSD releases I want overpriced on ebay!

I like the idea of it but agree that it's being spoilt by people taking part purely to make money.
Yes, if you buy something you've got every right to sell it on, and so I don't know what the answer is. But it's rather annoying to be stood in the queue, watching copies of the items you want appearing on eBay for stupidly inflated prices.

What did give me heart though - I went to Rough Trade East because Sapped Ankles were one of the live acts playing throughout the day - was that plenty of 'grown-ups' brought little kids along... under 10s. The gig circuit is completely off-limits to kids - save for a few festivals, I guess, but getting youngsters exposed to seriously experimental bands at such a young age can only be a good thing for the future of music. Too many never hear anything other than the pop cocoon that over-protective parents allow in so many children's formative existences.

I saw the lead up hype on twitter and as far as I could see it was some Rega turntables (good, gets people going) and some signed records and celebs.
