Used the search function, come up with a lot of chat about whether they are selling/how reliable they are/door handles etc etc... Haven't found much feedback from people who actually have one and what they think of it. Looking at R Dynamic SE versus a similar spec of F-Pace.

Hi,

I have a Velar and my wife has an F-Pace, mine is a D300 HSE R-Dynamic and hers is a 3.0D S. They are quite different cars in terms of drive, comfort and finish but let me know any specifics you want answering.

Cheers.

Sorry, probably should have been more clear! Are you pleased with the Velar? Do you have any experience of having child seats in the back?

I think we have decided on the spec, but I have still yet to drive one. Wasn't massively impressed with the Disco Sport, so I'm hoping the Velar is a step up!

I’m really pleased with it actually, i think it is a great looking car and the interior is great too. As i put on another thread on here, it gets comments all the time still and people who’ve been in it think it is a step up from my old RRS! Interior wise it is in a completely different league to the Disco Sport.

I haven’t tried child seats in it but the space between F pace and Velar looks to be the same in the back. Boot wise however the Velar has a lot more room in terms of cube and length of the boot.

I’d recommend either but the ride is very different in each. The Jag is much more car like and darty, the Velar is very serene to drive. I’ve got air suspension and that makes it really comfortable.

For spec, I think the SE is the sweet spot as the extra stuff I have on the HSE isn’t that useful, but massage seats are surprisingly good!

Been looking, as size suits, but wtf ... price at decent spec compared to a FFRR!

Really? My understanding was that anything other than a poverty spec FFRR was now north of a hundred big ones?

Just spec'd one to £92,685 without a problem.

They are taking the piss.

OP,

You asked who has a Velar. The question tells me you do not live near Cobham/Oxshott in mid Surrey. Here RRs and LRs are everywhere, probably because if a person has a connection to Chelsea FC they are required to live in the area as their training ground is nearby. It used to be that Evoques were plentiful but it now seems the Velar is the latest must have accessory for the WAGs.

The local RR/LR main dealer must do a wonderful trade!

(Me, I have a DS).

i has a First Edition - was the first or one of the first to be delivered in the UK back in July last year - fantastic car - lots of bugs with the electrics etc though - sold it after three months for what I paid for it (£85k) back to the dealer and ordered the new RRS Autobiography which came out cheaper lol

It took the dealer 7 months to sell my car and they took a £10k hit in the process.

And you can spec a RR to over £120k without a problem so I''m not sure of your point. Highest spec Velar with D300 is £10k less than lowest spec RR (and the lowest spec Velar is £35k less), up the spec on the RR and is soon jumps. No one forces people to buy them so why worry?
