991.2 Turbo S - Order books full?
Discussion
My local OPC tells me that the order book for current gen (991.2) Turbo S is full. I know the 992 models are expected to be announced in October but with 992 Turbos not expected to hit the market until late 2019/early 2020 it seems a bit soon to stop taking orders on current gen.
Can any of you corroborate (or otherwise) my dealers story?

OPC’s only get three or four a year I believe and with three months of production lost this year sounds totally plausible to me. Normally a six month wait for one at the best of times.Hence the strong residuals. Can any of you corroborate (or otherwise) my dealers story?

Thanks all. Really appreciate the information. Time to start ringing around the UK dealers!

You'll literally have to ring every one....even if there in the same dealer/franchise group there's no way an OPC would let a Turbo S go to another dealer. Dean
I'd also try Tom Hartley JR, Romans, Top 555, Redline etc. They seem to get very low mileage/almost new Turbo S's every now and again.

anyone who doesn't class the 991 Turbo S as a supercar clearly hasn't followed one in traffic - was behind one last night, couldn't get over how wide it was, stunning car with proper presence, just hadn't twigged how wide they are now.
They are indeed wide. As my son found out when he washed it

Be interested if there is any way of finding out how many 18 plate turbo s there are out there. Can't be many.
I'd guess one per OPC......so roughly 35. Mixed messages coming out of OPCs though. A friend who always buys from OPC Leeds has already put a deposit on 992 turbo S and been told he'll get one before the end of the year ie one of the first cars. My own OPC saying early 2020 before deliveries and they aren't taking deposits?

Order book was closed in Sept 17 on turbo s so I suppose it conceivable there are 35 18 plate cars out there although I'd imagine most of them would have been delivered before the end of last year.

I was told late 2019 or early 2020 before the 992 Turbo S would be available. Given that the 992s are rumoured to be announced at the Paris motor show in October this year, chances of getting a 992 Turbo S this year seem slim to none.Mixed messages coming out of OPCs though. My OPC did offer to take a 10K deposit to get my name onto a pre-order list with no guarantee of actually getting a car. Refundable of course if I don't.
