White Stripes awesome on TOTP 2000 this evening ......discuss....

Soz Farmer... to be described as "the best live band in America" seemed a tad optimistic. Girl 'plays' bland, straight drums, while boy shows his skill changing between dry acoustic riffs and metal grungey distortion, in a song that was unsatisfying and instantly forgettable. there have got to be thousands of people who play as well - if not better - than these people, and I'd like to know where or how or why White Stripes got their break. Good luck to 'em - they can obviously play instruments and write songs (no mean feat these days) but nothing remarkable at all.

Just went to see Deep Purple last night. Awesome. Bunch of nearly 60-year-olds who can still hammer it out.

Comment from their drummer - are they still better than their competition? There IS no competition...

You're not alone farmer - I think they're great. Got the album and it makes great driving music. Missed them on TOTP so can't comment on that performance.

Well I don't care what you miserable lot reckon - I rather like the white stripes. I'd go as far as to say that White Blood Cells was my favourite album of last year..

The Peel Session they did earlier this year was brilliant as well..

Haven't seen them on Top of the Pops because I haven't been daft enough to watch it since I could afford Sky, but from what I remember of that shower of shit I'd have not wanted to be there either..
