"The dispute is rooted in a quality control issue that caused F-35. At the time, corrosion was found in fastener holes of F-35As being repaired at Hill Air Force Base in Utah."
Why are they repairing brand new aircraft?
Maybe they have drilled too deep and punctured some O2 lines??

When I was doing acceptance checks on brand new Tornados at Marham in 1983, the undersides of the wings were already corroded, there was corrosion inside the nose landing gear struts, and we found a torch inside a wing tank.
Planes are expensive, but they are a long long way from being perfect, even when new.

You like their looks?
Considering the alternative was the X-32....I think the F-35 looks ok though.

We're due to start flying trials later this year.
We've been doing that for quite a few years already........
We'll only own 17 jets by the end of 2018 anyway, and given the Queen Liz is supposed to be sailing over to US to bring back enough of them for the IOC.....that doesn't leave many left over there to continue the trials and stuff?
And how many of the jets are Block 3F anyway?
There's so much smoke n mirrors about the F-35B because of all the problems with it, its hard to known anything really......other than it appears to consume money at a fast rate than it can burn through fuel....

I would think that will depend on how close they get to Land Only Ops IOC declaration, which is scheduled to be by end of this year.
