Is it worth avoiding completely? I'd look to arrive the Sunday morning it's on, about 11am. Want to dump the car and just be on foot the rest of the weekend. Could maybe get the train in for out of town?
Maybe check the route if you haven't already. I know Brighton pretty well and its hardly the most car friendly city any weekend, let alone when a big event is on.
