Hello everyone. I'm a newbie on here and need advice. Looking at buying a alfa romeo 159 1.9 jtdm sportwagon. Recently had cambelt and water pump changed. Need a car for work and will be doing about 20k miles a year so needs to be comfortable and good on fuel. Would get it remapped to give it that extra boast. Just need to know would this be a good choice for this and is there anything in particular I should look at before buying?

Mileage is low for year, 159s are a good ownership experience, even if the driving is not as dynamic as older/newer alfas. They are extremely comforatble and it its a Lusso and above it will be well specced and a lot of car for the money.
Check MPG readout, should be >40mpg
Check front subframe for rust
Turn steering lock to lock to make sure no noises or fluid pressure, while your at it check inside wear on tyres.
On test drive make sure no suspension knocking
Check with owner if they know status of EGR and DPF due to upcoming MOT changes
Get it in 6th gear and make sure no gearbox whining, make sure clutch isnt slipping.
