London - Puglia taking the scenic route

Any tips on particular passes or roads to take in on the way to Puglia this May would be appreciated.
Will be journeying with my wife and 4 month old baby so routes that are not only fun to drive but somewhere to stop and stretch the legs would be great, even if it's the top of a mountain.
Will be in my 850R but with an AP Racing BBK so no worries about the brakes not working on the way down the mountains!
I've driven mostly no "motorways" from Calais to Nice a couple of times before and also no motorways nearly all the way to Lake Garda via France/Switzerland so if there's recommendations for the Germany/Austria route to Italy that would be good, nice to see a different part of Europe this time.
