Took my rad out on the weekend, I had often looked through the front nose of the car thinking that was the Radiator I was looking at behind the Oil cooler. Well it turns out its not!
What you actually are looking at when looking through the front nose is the AC Condenser radiator.
Of course if you don't have AC then that is omitted.
No wonder these cars seem to have a problem with cooling!
Here's a pic of what I found after removing the Rad.
All that garbage was stuck between the Condenser rad and the Coolant rad! Removing the radiator is much easier than I thought.
Drain Coolant, undo fan connection plug, undo top and bottom hoses, remove 4 nuts that hold the fan shroud on and lift it away.
Undo two nuts at the top of the radiator shroud and lift it out.
Well worth doing, a gentle pressure washer and detergent should get rid of the road grime and bugs.
So if you plan on doing a coolant change, wip the rad out and give it a clean.
