The E88's are considerably lighter than the LM's (the LM's are a road wheel, the E88's are really a competition wheel, and thus the rim sections aren't laquered/protected from the elements)
Correct.

But also bear in mind that the E88 are a 3-piece wheel and the LM a 2-piece wheel. It just means that the LM is fairly easy to work with, refurb, etc. The E88 will need careful sealing and not everyone wants to work with them.
The weight difference is not something material for me....though I would like a set of E88s at some point

Had a set of E88’s with 888s on my old 993 RS for track use and they weren’t a practical choice for the roads - struggled to get anyone to refurb them too as one of the wheels got quite leaky. LM’s are a more sensible option. Both look fantastic on a GT3.

It’s only after seeing the E88’s on a car in the flesh yesterday that I’ve wanted a set - photographs don’t do them justice. I was more than happy with the standard wheels!
Agreed. They really are a thing of beauty, although I am perhaps too idle to want to have to wash them.I had a very nice set of OZ split rims on my first TVR and they were an utter pig to clean.
