Hi

I've had a QV for 7 mths. It needs its first service. My local dealer is Mangoletsi, but I'm still waiting for the call back with questions after the test drive 11 months ago, and for three separate call backs from service.

I'd planned to take it back to the supplying dealer, Chris Variava, despite an 80 mile drive e/w....but I'm struggling to get hold of anyone from service despite calls & emails (aside from a message to say that they 'would have thought I would have known they were chasing ownership at the moment)

So....what other dealers do people rate? What is Arnold Clark in Leeds like? Or Piccadilly Harrogate? (parents live between Leeds & Harrogate).

Or Swansway Chester?

Thanks!

Frustrating about the dealer network. Difficult to buy....Impossible to service. Not going to help Alfa Romeo's UK expansion!

If you're willing to travel to Chris V, I'd recommend Beechdale in Derby.

Piccadilly at Knaresborough were always pretty good with me. In servicing Caroline and Jono (service manager) very helpful. Courtesy cars were sometimes a struggle unless booked well in advance and would often be a poverty-spec Mito or 500 rather than anything tasty.

I'm not sure I'd trust any car to Arnold Clark. When I eventually got through to someone there they asked if my 4C was petrol or diesel banghead ... in their defence they quoted a spectacularly low price for a major service which I was tempted by but it was clearly a mistake (unless their labour rate is actually about £5/hour) rofl

Booked into Piccadilly earlier this week. Weeks notice, managed to find me a courtesy car. Already impressed!

Thanks Paul

The Sales guy leaves next week, he's as disgusted with the service as I was (still not had the last 3 calls returned from 10 days ago) - I gave up at that point. Single call to Piccadilly got the car booked in (for tomorrow).

Afraid their interpretation of passion is very different from mine. Maybe that's the Stoneacre acquisition, but the apathy has been comic.

I am interested in a Giulia but my first impressions of various dealers is not encouraging. God knows what the aftersales is like if they won’t even sell me a car.

Went to Piccadilly Knaresborough on Thursday for it's first service, outstanding. Can't fault it.

I'll certainly return despite the 180mile round trip!!

Unfortunately you don't have a lot of choice in Scotland. The general consensus seems to be to buy elsewhere and just use your nearest dealer for servicing. Beechdale in Derby seem to do good deals.

As an 2016 M3 owner considering a move to a new QF, one of the big question marks is the quality of dealers.
This thread has pretty much cemented that view.
Fantastic car but aftercare seems seriously compromised.
A new M3 it is.

There are some very good Alfa dealers. Depends where you are.
By the way, when I had a 5 series BMW I tried 5 different dealers before I found a decent one so it's not just Alfa. And don't get me started on the reliability (or not!) of the 5 series!
You'll be missing out big time making a decision like that but each to their own.

Yep, thankfully I've got Beechdale in Derby and Research in Nuneaton near me - both well regarded.

Don't worry, BMW have so many pre-reg cars sitting around they are practically giving them away and sending used values into freefall as a result.

A minor point, granted, but a Brand Manager who can't tell between brought and bought would not fill me with enough confidence to give them my car TBH

In fairness, BMW dealers aren't much better, buying or servicing.

I had to beg to be allowed to consider an M3 this time last year, now Mrs Ares is getting nowhere with getting someone to sell her a 1-series.
