I’ve got a 2016 Scirocco GT and the front pumps have packed in. I’ve refilled the solution, and the back one is working 100% fine. The front pair are not working at all. You can’t hear the motor or anything.
Anyone had experience of this? Have they burned out or is it a case of just replacing the fuse? If anyone has took it to VW what sort of cost am I looking at? Cheers in advance.

It’s less than 3 years old so is under warranty so shouldn’t cost anything

Is this covered under the warranty as it seems to be my fault? Obviously looks like I’ve burnt it out due to it freezing up given the weather we’ve have the past couple of week. Obviously not sure if it’s my fault but it certainly looks that way

The front and rear washers use the same pump. It rotates in one direction for the front and the other direction for the rear. Therefore it doesn't sound like the pump is burnt out if the rear washer is working. If my memory serves me right there is no fuse and you may need to reset the ECM by disconnecting the battery temporarily.

It will be covered under warranty.

Called VW and explained they'd packed in. £18 for a fix as its not under wear and tear warranty apparently!!

I'm surprised at that but if that's the case then at least try resetting the ECM first by disconnecting the battery temporarily.

Also note when you reconnect the battery a couple of warning lights (steering & Esp) will remain on until you drive a few hundred yards and the steering angle sensor calibrates.

PS. Are you sure they said £18 and not £80 smile

Thanks for the help mate, I'll try that. Literally just disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect?
And yes, definitely £18. I thought it was a strange number too so I asked again just to clarify laugh

Just disconnect it for 5 mins to be safe.
