Fabulous event generally, but just one complaint.

I watched the live stream on Saturday - brilliant.

We attended Sunday - also brilliant despite the bitter cold, but they made a complete hash up of the Gerry Marshall sprint. The race should have been red flagged & run for the full length after the early accident, if necessary sacrificing a few minutes of the following demonstration runs. Instead we got 3 laps at race pace.

A real shame for the punters, competitors & car owners.

Particularly the modern NASCAR demo with doughnuts. This is for the Festival. And one car (not Pirro's) was beached in the gravel.

Why is Nascar only for the FoS? Nonsense.

No ideas for a name

Was standing just down from where the Rover went off... Was obvious that it should have been restarted. Tyre wall didn't actually look too safe if there was another off. Felt sorry for Nick Swift... No chance to charge through the field in just a few racing laps.

Yes, the NASCAR stuff didn't seem to fit .. I agree more for FoS

There was 10mins of racing I think, so 5 mins and 3 laps missed out. Swifty got to 9th and probably would not have done too much more - maybe 5th. Still a hell of a performance from pit lane.

Sat through the Sprint and agree that the obvious answer was Red Flag, however it wasn’t, so ended with a SC and added 5 mins racing to the original time. I can’t fault the organisers, it was a bad accident and it needed time to fix.

All the other races needed to run as well, so I feel it was a reasonable compromise.

I wonder if keeping it going rather than a restart was due to it being shown live on ITV4, time constraints of TV and all that.

There was 5 minutes of racing after the safety car sadly. Agree race should have been stopped as accident looked like it would be long time to clear up. Managed 21st up to 5th but simply ran out of time to do any better.

Yes, they did allude to that on the commentary, if it was the case it's very frustrating, the Members Meet should be exactly that, for a paying audience rather than governed by TV schedules!

It did not help that the recovery truck then drove round the circuit with the Rover on board!
Could he of not just gone into the gap in the barrier.

Wasn’t it 6mins added after SC and 3.something minutes before the SC according to commentary? So that makes just about 10mins of total.

Did Swifty reach 5th? I thought he was 8 or 9 at the flag. I was freezing balls at that point on the banking!

We got 1 lap before sc out. The did add 6 min to clock but that was almost all consumed by sc time to. The clock stopped counting down for a while... But end result was about 2-3 laps under green after sc. A real shame as such an exciting race normally.

Also frigging cold sitting waiting during the sc!!!

I attended both days and the Sprint cup truncation was a real frustration- would love to have seen the Swift Mini's further progress .

I watched the ITV 4 stuff on catch up and it perfectly illustrated why being there might be colder and cost a fortune but is a completely different , and much , much better experience than sitting in front of the TV. The pre war race was a perfect example - the telly people fell into the usual trap that all viewers care about is the top 4 or 5 cars and 'the battle for the lead '. We don't - we like watching spidery, ancient cars going sideways for 75 yards , trying on crazy overtakes and wheelspinning out of the chicane in a haze of smoke . The fact that these guys are running 17th and 21st doesn't matter a hoot .

And TV doesn't even hint at the noise- and don't get me started on the smells!

Whilst being there is obviously best, the live streaming was way better than any edited down and "slickified" mainstream TV package.
