what are the potential pitfalls here?

manifold I should think..see here
but just in case my wild flight of fancy actually becomes reality...
what is the PH opinion on the mondial? (honest, reasonable opinion not I hate it because XXXX or whatever please!)
after seeing the one that bruciebabe posted up with 355 wheels I have been thinking that actually this one would look quite good with the same treatment and would be ideal to tootle to work and back via country lanes plus a low (initial ) cost introduction into ferrari ownership before I get my ideal of a 355GTB which won't be for a few years yet...

...they said it was a great introduction to Ferrari ownership.
I think like a Focus is a good introduction to GT ownership. Same makers badge on the front.
I've seen too many sad stories of people buying the badge. As Mr TT says, it sounds like a money pit. Walk briskly away not looking back and save your pennies for something better.

thanks for your concern
don't worry fellows I was just thinking a bit about it...having googled a bit more I have uncovered a few reviews of the mondial 8 and if i'm honest the one in the ad looks a bit like a dog...and what a hard life it must have had!
still it looks quite nice..
I'm still aiming for 348 spyder ownership by the end of the year (from a standing start in nov 04 = working bl00dy hard!) but every so often I get tempted by seeing what may have the potential to be my dream car...and then there's the thought that if I could just hold on until halfway through next year it could be 355....woe is me I dislike playing the waiting game
what's the going rate for a mint example, full sh etc?
bear in mind he's probably paid < 5k for this car. Why not wait for a bargain at auction, see h&h classic car auctions www.classic-auctions.co.uk
Negotiate it. He recently paid 66k (+ buyers premium) for a XJ220 and it's up on his site for 89995. What a mark up!
