I have a 2014 RS4 B8 with 20k on the clock. Over the last few weeks and intermittently the warning Max engine speed 6000 rpm has been coming up on the dash, whether I'm driving hard or not, AND not when cold as I always run in until warm. What I have noticed is the temp gauge which is normally a constant 90, creeps up just above that and the warning appears. I have taken it to local Audi, and have yet to receive an official response or quote, but they mentioned something about thermostat and seals and pump.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this and can you share your experience please?

Just had a call saying Coolant Pump, Coolant Thermostat Housing and Seals need replacing for £847 - wow!!! My car has only covered 20,000 miles, so is this usual?

Full main dealer service history? I’d be pushing for consumer protection compo.
