Afternoon all

In a bit of a muddle with DSG fluid part numbers and hoping someone can help me see the wood through the trees...

I bought 2008 Mk5 Golf GTI last week. No evidence of a DSG fluid change and the car is on 76k miles so I asked for a DSG fluid service as part of the purchase. They said fine, then their usual garage didn't have time so they gave me the parts instead and knocked off £50 so I could get it installed elsewhere.

On booking the car in for the fluid change I've been advised to check the parts are correct, fair enough. Easier said than done though!

The fluid they've given me is this stuff:

https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories...

States on the bottle and on the site that it "meets the requirements of VW TL 052182/529". I used the VW live chat to ask if that was correct for my car and was told not, apparently I should use "G-052-182-A2".

Looking at those two numbers perhaps the ECP stuff is ok as the numbers part appears to match up...

Does anyone know if I can use the fluid I've been supplied or am I best off using the genuine stuff? Will cost me £50 to have the fluid/filter I've been given by the garage I bought the car from fitted, or £155 using genuine oil/filter. So £100 more expensive and I'll then have 5L of fluid and a filter I won't know what to do with.

Also while I'm here, is 5L enough for the DSG fluid change?

Bump to keep this on page 1! If no-one knows I'll just use genuine stuff to be on the safe side.

G052182A2

Was used for my 6 speed dsg on a mk6 golf gti edition 35.

Can't imagine there being that much difference between the 2.

Thanks mate, no nor can I!

If it's going to be in there for the next 3 (or 4, can't remember) years / 40k miles though I guess I may as well use the real stuff.
