Phoned up by the labour party!

Just had an odd experience, some lady just called me, introduced herself as the labour councillor for my area and would like to ask me a couple of questions, which were:

Who do l most identify with?: Thinking of that recent "What party should i vote for" l answered UKIP.
Who did l last vote for in general election?: Labour
Will l be voting for them this election?: No

She then thanked me and that was that!
Whats that about then?

Normally they get a list of people that will be voting for them, then if they don't turn up at the polling station (which is why people ask your for your number outside - don't give it to them), then they phone people up who said they would vote for them, and offer to collect them etc to get their vote.

This is as i believe it to be anyway.

There seeing who to apply for a postal vote for.

If you turn up at the polling station and they tell you you have already voted then you will know.

I'm no market research analysis type bod, but i suspect they were trying to get data on who you voted for last time, if you will vote labour this time and if not who are you most likely to vote for

Helps them to prioritise their toadying campaigns to places that require the most lying to

They're main concern is getting out labour voters on the day. Hence they need to know who to bug...

If you really want to screw over Labour, phone them up and say you need a lift to the polling station - then vote for the opposition.

All the time they`re picking you up, thats one less labour voter they can collect.

I got a call from a Scottish accented low voiced person, who asked me if I wouldn't mind answering a few questions...

So he asked me,

After about 5 minutes I realised he probably wasn't Scottish, or employed by an independent research company, but our dear labours... why not just fake my postal vote then, freaks...

yes, i'v had one of their calls as i'm in a labour seat that the libs are targeting.

as the guy said, "i'm phoning on behalf of the labour party..."

my reply midway through his introduction.."you've got f###### no chance sonny, i'm looking forward to the day you get hoofed out." he must have thought i was a floating voter.

I had the pleasure of a personal visit from teh Liberal Democrats last night:

M-A-M: Local income tax. I run my own business and don't earn a salary - I pay myself a dividend every quarter. How will you calculate my earnings and collect the tax?

Lib Dem Woman: Err. Don't know.

M-A-M: OK then, Europe. You want to devolve all legislative decision making to a bunch of unelected bureaucrats with an unfortunate history of grotesque corruption. So a vote for you would essentially be guaranteeing the end of our democracy.

Lib Dem Woman: Well, we do want to influence Europe, not just be run by it.

M-A-M: A laudable idea, but it won't work will it? Your voice will just be lost in the considerable noise made by France, Germany and the Eastern European countries?

Lib Dem Woman: Um, it's time for me to leave now...

I've been bugged by them all coming round, plus the usual letters and leaflets. I might as well ask my sister for a loan of my nephew for a few hours each day so they can kiss a baby and make the visits completely worthwhile. How they get past the dogs, barbed wire and man traps I do not know, politician guile and cunning I suppose.

Not even seen a leaflet where I live-it is a safe Labour seat though.

I haven't seen any Labour canvassers yet. But our Conservative Parliamentary Candidate did come round and say hello...she's a nice lady.

Oddly one of her campaigning points is about Local Police levels not being high enough. Probably true...but I avoided commenting that perhaps wandering about Basingstoke apparently alone and knocking on doors wasn't perhaps the safest activity ever...

I reckon our estate won't even get a visit from any of the other parties. Pointless...

Think they are all fighting over Guildford, Tory's desperate to get it back from the Lib dems

His tonyness will be a distant third here so I do not even get the satisfaction of telling them what think of his efforts spending my money and raiding my pension since 1997.

More realistically the Lib Dems are not completely safe and I am rather disapointed that there is not more indication of the Conservatives putting up a fight.

Nail, head etc.

I had an Indian woman from the Tories phone me up and ask me whether immigration was a divisive election issue. Definately trying to find out what kind of opinion they're dealing with.

I didn't give them the luxury of my opinion

We are all wasting our time. As previous posters have said, and various newspapers have proven, Labour seem to have vote factories in industrial units that make Mugabe look like a true democrat. We are set for the most corrupt general election in British history.
