Get a remap...!

Best £200 I have ever spent on a car !!

My 156 has the same engine and the difference was amazing after the remap: the mid range torque in the higher gears is awesome, and my remap was 'a bit of both', increase in BHP of about 25%, and the mpg stayed about the same ( 42mpg on a motorway/A road 70 mile commute)

My next car ( after my 156 has got to 200,000 !) will probably be a 159 in dark blue...but I may be tempted to go for the 2.4

Nice photos of France by the way: I took mine to Monaco a couple of years ago and that was a great drive in the Alfa.

I'm just about to do a service and front discs/pads change on my 159 did you source a service manual (there isn't a Haynes manual for them)?

You cant really go wrong with the above items, you need to remove the undertray to get to the airbox from underneath(that can take a whole day if the captive nuts have come loose), its on the drivers side in front of the wheel. Assuming its a 1.9 the fuel filter is on the bulkhead, oil filter is accessible by removing passenger side wheel, when you loosen it the oil flows out the drain cock, and pollen filter behind glovebox.
