Lotus Elise Cup clone

I started out two years ago when the Elise Cup cars were realised and a company in Malaysia started producing the aero.
There are some differences and clearly the scope isn’t there to wind tunnel test it but I’m not hunting for tenths. It was overall the effect I was looking for.
That then turned in to a full suspension refresh using Nitron bearings, refurbished Quantum shocks..
Then I bought a Pro Alloy radiator.. then I.. then I etc
Two years later aside from the engine being mostly standard (more to come there) I had stripped, cleaned and refurbished every nut, bolt and bracket I could find.
The interior now has a custom OE steering wheel with a yellow marker and black alcantara. A Recaro SPG recovered by Captial seating with a standard passenger seat to match.
Lots of paint!! The front clam was modified to remove the mounting lug holes where the front grille fitted. The company (Premier Paint and Body) did a great job. It still needs to go back for final finish and detailing.
There’s so much more than I could post. I documented everything though and took hundreds of photos along the way so I’ll make a little coffee table book for myself.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing and I made mistakes along the way. There’s certainly places that I could have done slightly better but ultimately I’m happy with the result.
The engine currently is a mostly standard K series with a 2bular exhaust, decat, ITG Maxogen paired with a 52mm tb. Still only a 130bhp on a good day.
That will be boxed up as the car has only done 38k since 2002. Then I’ll build a K20 and fit that. Should give it about the same power as a Cup but with no frilly bits like A/C, PAS, ABS. It even has windy windows!
Finally the numberplate. Hmmm. It seemed like a good idea at the time
I’ll be ordering another with correct spacing..
